Accusing the ISI of drugging the youth to lure them and use them against India, Punjab DGP P S Gill today alerted police officials against the Pakistani intelligence agency's increased anti-India activities.
The ISI is using drugs and fake currency to lure the youths into its trap and later use them against India, Gill told police officials at a meeting here which was out of bounds to the media.
He also asked them to keep a watch on travel agents so that they don't fall into the ISI's trap and send the youth to Pakistan on the pretext of sending them abroad.
Earlier, the DGP also paid a surprise visit to the Rail Coach Factory here to review its security.
Gill, accompanied by Jalandhar range IG Sanjeev Kalra, DIG Ishwar Singh and SSP Ram Singh reached the RCF premises without informing the management about his visit and took stock of the security arrangements at the vital installation.
The RCF here is the largest manufacturer of rail coaches in the world.
The DGP also told his officials that the police department was going to launch many welfare schemes like the opening of cooperative canteens on the lines of army canteens and an insurance cover of RS one lakh for police officials from the rank of constables to that of police inspectors.
