Security forces in Agartala on Sunday captured Munir Khan (21), a suspected Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) agent, born and brought up in Pakistan’s Bahawalpur, a known breeding ground of terrorists.
The suspect is one of the recruits of the ISI trained for sabotage activities in India.
Deputy Inspector General (Operation) Nepal Das confirmed the arrest. Khan’s arrest came following the leads given by six local youths arrested near the border with Bangladesh in Sonamura, 45 km south of Agartala.
Intelligence officials have reportedly arrived from New Delhi to interrogate Khan.
