Four members of the armed wing of Hamas were killed in an Israeli air raid on Gaza City on Friday and a fifth member the radical Islamist movement was killed by Israeli gunfire in the northern city of Beit Hanun, medical sources said.
An Israeli aircraft attacked a vehicle transporting the four members of the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades in the eastern Gaza City neighbourhood of Shujaiya, according to the medical source.
Five people were also wounded in the attack, added the medical official.
Among those killed was Omar Mushtaha, a chief of a local unit of Hamas' armed wing sought by Israel, witnesses said.
The four men had stopped near a mosque to go pray when their vehicle was hit by a missile, witnesses said.
At Beit Hanun, where Israeli forces are staging a major incursion, a fifth Hamas member was killed by gunfire from Israeli soldiers.
Suheib Aduane, 21, was a member of the team of bodyguards of Palestinian government's refugees minister, Hamas member Atef Aduane.
