A senior Congress leader on Monday demanded that the Uttarakhand government should issue a white paper on the financial position of the hill state.
"Uttarakhand is facing a serious economic crisis. Leave apart the development works, the government does not have money even for the salaries of its employees. So, the government should issue a white paper on the current financial position of the state," Indira Hridayesh told reporters in the state.
The government paid last month's salary to its employees after borrowing money from one of its corporations and everyone now wants to know how it will arrange money in the future, as over two years of its term are still left, she claimed.
Hridayesh alleged that the BJP government had not done anything for the development of the state.
