Next time you are grinding your body to an item number, here’s the easiest way to have Munni and Sheila serve your poison, shaken and stirred. Mumbai product designer Dipika Vijay of Coyote Accessories has a quirky, new collection of stirrers featuring the most popular names from the item number world. “Bollywood pop is the new kitsch now,” says Vijay. “The idea for the collection came after the popularity of Dabangg. And since music and drinking go together, I thought why not?”

Besides this year’s favourite item girls, Munni and Sheila, the collection also pays tribute to the old-school body-swirling days of actor Madhuri Dixit’s Choli ke peeche as well as Bipasha Beedi Basu and Yana Babuji Gupta among others. “I think bar accessories are usually taken a little too seriously. Most of the stuff available in the market have a suave steel finish,” she says, adding “I wanted to make it dirty and add a bit of naughtiness to it, because that’s what we are like after a few swigs,” she adds.

A set of six item girl stirrers is available at Attic in Santa Cruz and Bliss for Rs.550. Coming up next is Vijay’s new collection of politician stirrers featuring the likes of Lallu and Mamta Banerjee.

We’ll say cheers to that.
