Nine fresh swine flu cases have detected at Kashmir's main tertiary care hospital Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar, taking the number of H1N1-infected people to 181 since Oct 2014.
According to SKIMS spokesperson, 50 frontline health workers, including doctors and paramedics, have been vaccinated at SKIMS on Thursday, besides 100 hospital staff who had already been vaccinated.
The spokesperson says as many as 195 patients were examined up to 2pm on Thursday, while nine fresh samples were collected.As many as 11 patients are admitted at the isolation ward of SKIMS, of which one is on ventilator. No death has been reported on Thursday.
The spokesman said SKIMS was likely to receive reagents or chemicals for 500 patients from National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), New Delhi.
