J-K govt to set up DNA profiling unit

The Jammu and Kashmir government willset up two new divisions in the Forensic Science Laboratory including a DNA profiling unit.

"The Home department has sanctioned setting up of two more new divisions in Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL)," H K Lohia, IG, Technical Services said.

The divisions include DNA profiling and Laboratory facilities and computer-cyber-voice identification and video authentication technology, he added.

The state government has invited Expression of Interest (EOI) from reputed and experienced companies and Consortium for setting up these two new divisions.

Interested organisations can submit EOI for each division or both the divisions, he said.
