The 300-km Jammu-Srinagar national highway reopened to vehicular traffic after the clearance of landslides at Panthal, traffic authorities said on Friday.
The highway was blocked to vehicular traffic on Thursday following landslides triggered by heavy rains at Panthal between Ramban and Banihal, they said.
The authorities have allowed only stranded vehicles, including passenger buses and light motor vehicles, to move towards Srinagar and Jammu, they said, adding that several hundred vehicles, including good carriers, had got stranded at different points on the highway due to closure of vehicular traffic.
Fresh convoys of vehicles would be allowed to ply on the highway from Srinagar and Jammu on Friday, they said.
