Jammu and Kashmir government has planned to set up an international fish aquarium at the Dal lake to attract tourists, state Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar said.

"We plan to set up a modern fish aquarium of international standards at Nehru park, an island in the lake," he said.

The Minister said that this would promote pisiculture, besides providing an added tourist attraction in the vicinity of the Dal lake and the Mughal Gardens.

The existing office of the fisheries department at Nehru park would be shifted and the prime land under its occupation would be utilised for setting up the aquarium, he said while inaugurating special sale centre for rainbow trout fish.
