Jammu and Kashmir police plans to provide latest technology and gadgets to police stations to help its officials improve their professional skills, DGP Kuldeep Khoda said today.

Inaugurating a day-long workshop for young police officers at the Kashmir zone police headquarters in Srinagar, he asked the officers to maintain diaries of day-to-day developments in various cases to facilitate early completion of investigation.

The police chief told the officers that gathering of facts while investigating cases is of paramount importance as adjudication of these is largely dependent on it.

He said police must ensure speedy response to the complaints lodged with it but care must be taken to ensure that no innocent person is put to any inconvenience.

Providing timely justice is essential to strengthen the image of police and faith of the masses in it, he said.

Earlier, IGP Kashmir Farooq Ahmad had said there is need to upgrade the skills of police officers on scientific lines for effectively working out the cases.
