High altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir continue to shiver in intense cold as night temperature showed downward trend for the past one week.
High altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir continue to shiver in intense cold as night temperature showed downward trend for the past one week. Pahalgam, a hill resort in south Kashmir, was the coldest place in the state as the night temperature dipped to minus 6.4 degrees Celsius, MET office said.
Qazigund recorded a low of minus 5.5 degrees Celsius, while Kupwara and Banihal recorded a minimum of minus 2.7 and minus 1.6 degree Celsius respectively.

Srinagar, summer capital of the state, witnessed a low of 2.4 degrees Celsius.
While, Jammu, winter capital, recorded a minimum temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius, the met office said.
