The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved annual plan outlay of Rs 45.09 crore has for Doda district for 2009-10, a hike of 15 per cent over that in the last financial year.
The decision was taken at the District Development Board meeting of Doda district held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Jammu on Wednesday.
Announcing several projects for the district, the chief minister provided Rs 5 crore for completion of ongoing road projects in the district while Rs 2.45 crore was earmarked for disposal of pending land acquisition cases and Rs 1.5 crore were sanctioned for setting up trauma hospital at Khellani.
He announced Rs 1 crore for construction of sports stadium at Doda and Rs 70 lakh for land acquisition for polytechnic college.
The chief minister said that this year, with the initiation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, highest ever Plan of Rs 5,500 crore has been earmarked for Jammu and Kashmir in addition to Rs 1,200 crore from Prime Minister Reconstruction Programme.
Abdullah said the state has already earmarked specified funds as state share for all centrally sponsored schemes.
