Jakhar: Keep Capital free from metro-like problems

GOVERNOR Balram Jakhar on Wednesday called upon people to protect the State capital from the problems being faced in metros.

He said situation like imposing the sealing in New Delhi should not be faced in Bhopal. For this, collective efforts should be made, he added. Jakhar also released the citizen forum’s first souvenir. Minister for Housing and Environment Jayant Kumar Malaiya and Mayor Sunil Sood were also present.

The Governor said usually people thought a little about public problems and welfare of others. He expressed pleasure that the prominent people associated with the citizen forum not only came forward for the welfare of all but also solved the problems of the City.

He said common man should be made aware of importance of cleanliness and good living. For this, they should be apprised of their duties and responsibilities.

Forum convenor AK Pandya said the institution, formed in 2003, besides working for improvement in traffic and environment, is also actively engaged in benefiting the City with the Bhoj Wetland Project.

Prominent among those present included Dr NP Mishra, HA Ghanekar, Arun Gurtu, Proloy Bagchi, Deepika Bagchi, Prof Zamiruddin, Dr Manoj Mathur and others.
