Devi Prasad's hattrick was the highlight of Jamia Millia Islamia's (JMI) 10-0 win over Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, in the North Zone Inter-University Men's Hockey Tournament at the JMI campus on Wednesday.

In another match, Delhi University scored a 5-1 win over Lucknow University. In yet another one-sided affair, Sushil Gupta scored a hattrick as Aligarh Muslim University thumped the University of Kashmir 5-0.

Garhwal University beat Kumaon University 2-0 and Patiala University beat Meerut, 7-0. While Avadh University, Faizabad, won against HP University, Shimla, 3-1 while Agra University got a walkover from Haridwar University to move into the next round.

Raninder elected new NRAI president

International shotgun shooter Raninder Singh was elected president of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) at the governing body meeting of the federation here on Wednesday. Raninder, who represented Punjab in the meeting, has donned India colors in ISSF World Cups and has participated in several National Championships.
