Jan Morcha march from today

THE DADRI March-Mukti Sangram Yatra of the Jan Morcha and its allied parties will begin from Fazilnagar (Kushinagar) tomorrow. The march will be led by former Prime Minister VP Singh. Talking to media persons, Jan Morcha’s national general secretary Vinod Singh said the march would start with a rally at Fazilnagar.

The first phase will start on September 23 and end on October 1 at Lucknow.

The second phase will start from October 6 at Lucknow and end on October 19 at Lalitpur. The third phase will start on October 26 at Urai and end on October 30 at Agra. The fourth phase will start on November 7 at Mathura and end on November 12 at Pilibhit. The fifth phase will start on November 17 at Sambhal and end on November 24 at Bulandshahr. In reply to a question, Singh said the Jan Morcha would not participate in the urban local bodies poll. “We will extend support to the candidates of the alliance who wish to contest the local bodies poll,” he said.

Assistant secretary of the CPI’s UP State Council, Dr Girish said during the march the leaders would draw the attention of the people towards forcible acquisition of farmers’ land by the State Government and suicide by farmers.

NCP takes out rally

LED BY party president Shaista Amber, members of Nationalist Communist Party took out a march from Shaheed Smarak to Parivartan Chowk. They were demanding that minority community people who had played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle be given due place in history books.

Amber said, “There are several persons who played a significant role in the freedom struggle. However, they have not been given their due place in history.” The activists handed over a memorandum and addressed to the Governor to the city magistrate.
