Jaspal Rana shines on final day

JASPAL RANA of ONGC on Tuesday showed his class and won the first position in the 25-metre centre fire pistol event in the selection trials for Asian Games that concluded at BSF’s Reoti Range.

The 13th day of the selection trials belonged to Jaspal Rana and Sanjeev Rajput. Jaspal Rana won the first position in the 25-metre center firs pistol.

Mahavir Singh of Army obtained 583 points to win the second position while Samaresh Jung of CISF and Vijay Kumar of Army were tied for the third place obtaining 582 points. Sanjeev Rajput of the Navy obtained 1,159 points in the semifinal and 96.8 in the final taking his total to 1255.8 points to win the first position in the 50-metre rifle three position.

Hari Om Singh of the Army obtained 1,161 points in the semifinal and 92.5 points in the final taking his total to 1253.5 points to win the second position.

Imran Hassan Khan of Army obtained 1,159 points in the semifinal and 92.9 in the final to finish third with a total of 1251.9 points. Today was the final day of selection trials and the team will be selected in New Delhi on September 22.
