Jat stir: Prof Virender will be arrested soon, says Rohtak SP

A day after the Rohtak police booked former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Prof Virender and spokesperson of Dalal Khap Capt Man Singh Dalal (rtd) on sedition charges for allegedly provoking people to create a Rohtak-like situation in Sirsa, the Rohtak police now has formed two teams to arrest them.

A day after the Rohtak police booked former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Prof Virender and spokesperson of Dalal Khap Capt Man Singh Dalal (rtd) on sedition charges for allegedly provoking people to create a Rohtak-like situation in Sirsa, the Rohtak police now has formed two teams to arrest them.

“Yes, an FIR has been registered and investigation was going on to arrest them as soon as possible”, Rohtak superintendent of police (SP) Shashank Anand told media persons on Thursday.

It is pertinent to mention here that FIR has been registered at the Rohtak Civil Lines police station under Section 124 A, 153 A, 153 B, 120B and 109 B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property, for allegedly provoking riots which claimed 28 lives and destroyed private and public property worth Rs 20,000 crore damaged, causing a huge loss to state exchequer.
