An army jawan was killed in firing from across the border along the LoC in Poonch district today.

An army jawan was killed in firing from across the border along the LoC in Poonch district on Tuesday.

Suspected militants opened fire from across the border at Tata Post around 0200 hours following which troops retaliated, official sources said.

In the brief exchange of fire, a jawan identified as Jang Bahadur of 2nd Gorkha rifle was critically injured and later died in the district, 230 kms from Jammu.
