JANATA DAL (U) MP from Bihar and president of the all-India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz Ali Anwar assailed UP United Democratic Front leader Ahmad Bukhari and PDF chief Maulana Kalbe Jawad for misleading the community for political gains.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, Anwar said that Muslim religious fronts would only communalise politics during the UP assembly election. He said that neither the UDF nor the PDF had any base in the State. Anwar said that Muslims in Bihar had rejected ‘politics of fatwa’ which had badly affected the Rashtriya Janata Dal of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Ignoring the interest of backward class and dalit Muslims, Anwar said Lalu Prasad paid attention to religious outfits like All- India Muslim Personal Law Board, Milli Council, Jama-e-Islami and others.

He said that Muslims in Bihar had been making efforts for social uplift.
Anwar said that those who were trying to woo Muslims in UP had done nothing for their welfare. The Mahaz (front) has called upon Muslims to be united and vote for the party which worked for their betterment. He said that the front would chalk out strategy in this connection. Anwar said that moves were afoot to free the community from the clutches of Mullahs.

He said that the future of the community was well protected under secular parties, as the UDF and the PDF would not be able to solve the problems. He said that UP Muslims should not be guided by ‘fatwa politics’.
