THE STATE Government has launched an ambitious plan for unemployed youth of schedule castes (SC) and schedule tribes (ST) wherein they will be provided free technical training after completion of their degree/diploma courses through various government aided engineering and polytechnic colleges to enhance their employability.

Provisions will be made for tuition fee, hostel facility, mess charges, stationery, drawing material, uniform and scholarship for the selected candidates during their free training programme. A total of 154 students from six different courses will be imparted training at the Indo-German Tool Room (Indore) under the programme.

The State Government has already asked all the government autonomous engineering colleges and polytechnics to provide information to them regarding those unemployed students who have completed the courses or who are in their final year of the concerned courses.

The courses that will be offered to the students under the scheme include four-year course in advance diploma in tool and dye making, two-year advance course in machinist trade, one-year post diploma course in cad/cam and certificate course in CNC (computerised numerical controlled) machining, three months certificate course in cad/cam and certificate basic course in cad/cam. A scholarship of Rs 1000 per month will be provided to the participating students.

The principals of the concerned colleges have been directed to provide year wise compiled information to the Directorate Technical Education regarding unemployed students as well as their merit positions.
