A freelance journalist had been arrested by the Oshiwara police on Thursday for vulgar SMSes to aspiring actress and model Nandini Jumani.
The arrested person had been identified as Flynn Remedios (34), a resident of Andheri (East).
According to the police, an application was filed by Jumani with the Oshiwara police on Wednesday, stating that Remedios, who was working as Public Relations Officer for Jumani recently, started sending her lewd phone messages.
Acting on the application, the police after inquiry arrested Remedios from his Andheri (East) residence. "We have arrested Remedios under sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) and 509 (making lewd gestures to the woman)," senior police inspector Dilip Patil with Oshiwara police station said.
"He used to say that he would make me a big star in the film industry. Later he started sending me lewd SMSes and also said that if I would not listen to him he would kill himself. For the past three months he has made my life hell by creating scene outside my house," said Jumani.
Remedios was produced before the metropolitan magistrate court at Andheri on Friday and was granted bail.
