Actress Reese Witherspoon is set to assume the role of a real life judge for a pioneering women’s awards ceremony.
The Oscar-winner will oversee the nominations and winners of Empowering Women’s Awards, that will honour victims of domestic violence. “Domestic violence affects one in four women in the UK and many are suffering in silence. It’s so important that we find a way to reach out in every community and offer our understanding, protection and support,” the Daily Star quoted her as telling Marie Claire magazine.
Others on the judging panel include Sarah Brown, wife of Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and TV chef Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana.
