THE CONGLOMERATION of 18 employees’ association today withdrew their one-day strike of July 24. They took this decision after a meeting with the Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development, Narendra Singh Tomar.

The employee leaders decided to call off the strike following assurance by the minister that their demands would be sympathetically considered after ongoing assembly session. However, the employee leaders were not confident about making the proposed strike of July 24 a major success and apprehending its failure in Bhopal in general and Mantralaya in particular, they desperately needed such assurance from the minister.

Tomar held a meeting with the leaders of 18 employees associations and said the State Government would listen to their demands and resolve them. He said the government was trying to find out solutions to the long pending demands of employees and final decision would be taken after another round of talks with employee leaders after monsoon session.

GAD Principal Secretary Khushiram and Secretary to Chief Minister Anurag Jain were also present on this occasion along with leaders of various employees’ associations.
