Junior Tennis: MP players shine on day one

THE MAIN draws of the AITA Junior Talent Series tennis tournament began at the Yeshwant Club grounds on Monday. Club secretary Prasveen Kasliwal inaugurated the tournament.

On the inaugural day, matches for boys in the age groups of 12, 14 18 and for girls in the under-18 category were held. In U-12 boys’ category, Bamkin Silawat, Parv Badjathia, Nadav Kamar, Suraj Haripani (all from MP), AYC Krishna (AP) and Neeraj Choudhri (Rajasthan) won their matches to advance to the second round.

In the U-14 boys’ category, Krishna Satwani, Harshdal Seti, Rachit Sethiya, Yash Jaisinghani and Jay Bafna (all from MP) and Devesh Gouri from Chattisgarh won their first round matches.

In the under-18 category, Rohan Verma, Meet Shah, Vandan Ved, Dushyant Verms and Keerti Damle (all from MP) and Devesh Gouri (from Chhattisgarh) won their matches.

In the U-18 girls’ category, Avit Mittal, Anjali Thakur, Shraddha Kapoor all from MP, Balvinder Kaur (Haryana) and Sheetal Yadav (Mahrashtra) won their matches to advance to the second round.
