Just a walk in the park

Without being dismissive, one can objectively state that Nykita Roheman and Albert Richelieu of St. Lucia would have a tough time taking on some of India’s sub-junior pairs.

Against Leander Paes and Sania Mirza, they did not even have a blink of a chance and surrendered 6-1, 6-0.

“Paes you alone are enough” snapped a spectator to sum the proceedings which were decidedly one-sided.

The match, though, did illustrate that Mirza is yet to get to top-notch match sharpness and that her serve stays a work in progress.

But then to be fair why break into a sprint when you have before you a leisurely walk in the park?

The Indians could have lost the first game of the match because they were surprised by Richelieu whirring in those kick serves. After all, he had hardly put a ball across during the warm-up. The match lasted 39 minutes.
