Just rent it!
Don’t wish to spend a bomb on an outfit for a dandiya night, but at the same time would not want to look under-dressed? No problem. We tell you where to rent one.india Updated: Sep 24, 2009 16:29 IST
Harsh Kumar Saini of Kaku Fancy Store, Jangpura, says, “Dandiya is catching up in a big way. While girls rent lehenga choli and angrakha, boys prefer dhoti, jackets, pagdi, etc.”
Vandana Tewari, a college student who got a dress as well as accessories on rent, says, “I thought the dress and accessories would be expensive, but I got it for just Rs 600! Doing dandiya with the right set of clothes gives you a high.” Shweta Nag, a working mother who got an angrakha for herself and a dhoti for her son, says, “Since I wanted my son to enjoy the festival the traditional way, I decided to get the clothes on rent.”
While the trend of renting costumes is picking up, many still invest in traditional wear to lap up memories of dandiya nights. A striking traditional outfit like a lehenga, we found out, starts at Rs 7,000. So what are you waiting for? Grab your garba costume right away and dance the night away with your loved ones!
