Kaiga Nuclear Power Plant officials have submitted their report on internal probe into the radiation contamination of drinking water cooler to police which said investigation into the case is on.

"The authorities submitted their inquiry report on December one and subsequently an FIR was lodged into the case at Mallapur police station (Uttara Kannada district)," Inspector General of Police (Western Range) Gopal Hosur said.

Investigation into the case is on and "though several people are being questioned, no arrests have been made so far. The probe will take some time," he said, refusing to divulge further details.

The November 24 incident, where around 45-50 employees working in the first maintenance unit of the plant were tested for increasing level of tritium, also known as Hydrogen-3, after they consumed water from the water cooler, is being jointly probed by an investigating team.
