The long-awaited Kamal Haasan starrer Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu has finally recreated the Haasan magic at the box office. The film is a huge hit and is running to packed houses all across Chennai. The film is also a big triumph for director Gowtham Menon, whose last film was Kaakka Kaakka.
Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu has also been ranked the number one Tamil film this fortnight. The film, which is directed by Gowtham Menon, is the first Kamal Haasan film to be released after the blink-and-miss Mumbai Express in 2005.
Thimiru, directed by Tarun Gopi, comes a close second. This is actor Vishal's third hit after Chellamay and Sandakozhi. Something Something Unakkum Enakkum, directed by Raja, takes the third spot. This feel-good fun film is going great guns even amidst violent action movies.
Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi, directed by Simbudevan continues to rock. The film sticks to the fourth spot, followed by the film Aran, which is at the fifth position. Aran is slowly catching up though it is no patch on the extremely successful original Malayalam version Keerthi Chakra, which is a blockbuster in Kerala.
