The district police authority has announced to donate one-day salary to the Prime Minister Relief Fund.
In a press note issued here on Monday evening by the superintendent of police office, a sum of Rs 11.75 lakh would be collected and donated to those struck by the Uttarakhand tragedy.
From the ranks of a constable to the SP, all have volunteered to offer financial aid for the calamity victims.
Similarly, employees of the municipal corporation here handed over a cheque for Rs 49,900 to deputy commissioner Renu S Phulia for the rescue and rehabilitation of Uttarakhand flood victims.
Members of new grain market association also donated Rs 1.11 lakh for the relief fund through the district administration.
Meanwhile, Kaithal deputy commissioner Chander Prakash on Monday issued a public appeal to donate for the relief activities in the hill state where hundreds were feared stranded in the inhospitable conditions caused by widespread floods.
