Kasab's judicial custody extended till March 30

A special sessions court today extended the judicial custody of Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured in the 26/11 attacks, to March 30. Replying to his request for a lawyer, the court observed that since Kasab is a foreign national, it will have to see if there are any different provisions for him.
A special sessions court on Monday extended the judicial custody of Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured in the 26/11 attacks, to March 30.
Kasab will be produced through video conferencing before special judge M L Tahilyani on March 30, when the court will examine the provision of appointing a lawyer for him from the state legal aid cell.

The court observed that since Kasab is a foreign national, it will have to see if there are any different provisions for him.
On March 30, the court will also pass an order on the application made by the prosecution last week seeking postponement of the trial till April 13.
