The Mumbai police on Saturday shifted Mohammed Ajmal Amir Iman alias Kasab, the lone terrorist arrested in connection with the November 26 attacks, to Arthur Road jail in central Mumbai for an identification parade.
"Ajmal has been taken to the Arthur Road jail and will be brought back to the present location immediately after the parade is over," home department sources told PTI.
Police have called about 35 eyewitness for the identification parade of Ajmal.
Nine other terrorists were killed by security forces during the 59-hour long terror attacks which began on November 26 and claimed over 180 lives.
On Wednesday, Ajmal was remanded in police custody till January 6 by the Metropolitan Magistrate Court on charges of forcible possession of a car near Mantralaya on November 26.
Owing to security concerns, the magistrate and the public prosecutor came to Mumbai police headquarters to seek extension of Ajmal's police custody.
Ajmal and his accomplice Ismail Khan allegedly gunned down three top police officials at Cama hospital in south Mumbai before hijacking the car.
The car of the duo was stopped by policemen at Girgaun Chowpatty. While Khan was shot dead by the police, Ajmal was caught alive.
