The Pakistan cricket team has acquired the key to possibly win its eighth Test against England at The Oval -- lots of Tikka, Kebab and Chicken or TKC.
According to the Daily Times, a cricket tour of England for the Pakistani or Indian teams is considered incomplete without a visit to TKC (Tikka, Kebab and Chicken) – a chain of food centers here.
So tempting is the fare, the sticking to or maintaining a fitness regimen can be most challenging for the players, claims owner Dilawar Bhai.
“I enjoy serving meals. I’ve some great friends in Pakistan and India and I never miss an opportunity to catch up with old pals,” says Dilawar.
Captain Inzamam and his boys are no exception when it comes to savouring Dilawar Bhai's culinary delights. Cricket travel has taught players not to be fussy about food.
A bemused Dilawar says that whether it is TKC or a Naan or Daal (lentils), the players enjoy the whole fare.
Since the 1970s, every Pakistan and Indian team has enjoyed the hospitality of the TKC and Dilawar.
On August 14, which was Pakistan Day, Dilawar arranged a meal for the team at his restaurant in South Hall. Barring a few players, all attended the function. It was virtually a case of a home away from home.
