Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Wednesday said he is deeply pained that a controversy has been raked up over his visit to slain NSG commando Sandeep Unnikrishnan's house in Bangalore.
Speaking in the state Assembly, he said certain remarks were attributed to him and people have been misled by this.
"I have deep pain and regret over this," he said.
Achuthanandan made the statement in the Assembly during the zero hour after the opposition UDF members raised the issue.
The chief minister said he and his colleague Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had gone there as the state had highest regard for the martyr and his bereaved family.
