Kerala High Court today rejected the anticipatory bail plea of south Indian politician Abdul Madani's wife Soofiya Madani paving way for her arrest over terror charges.
Court finds prima facie evidence of Soofiya's link with terror plot. She is allegedly linked to LeT south Commander T Nazeer.
With his wife Soofiya Madani being listed as an accused in the Tamil Nadu bus burning case, PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani on Monday said the couple would fully co-operate with the investigation.
On December 14, Madani told reporters that he feared if his wife also would have to undergo the suffering he had when lodged in Coimbatore central jail in connection with the Coimbatore serial blast cases.
Denying any link with suspected LeT operative, T Nazir, now in police custody, he said instead of focusing on him and his wife in the 2005 bus burning case, the nexus between the LeT and Kerala has to be exposed.
Madani alleged that some congressmen in the state have conspired to trap his family in the case.
Soofiya has been listed as 10th accused in the case relating to the torching of a Tamil Nadu Corporation bus at Kalamassery in Kochi in September 2005 to protest against Madani's detention in the Coimbatore jail.
The development followed the arrest of Nazir, who was the prime accused in the case.
