Actor Kevin Costner is set to direct and star in A Little War of Our Own, the story of a US town during the World War-II.
The 55-year-old actor, who has previously directed Dances with Wolves and The Postman, will helm the action adventure movie, as well as playing a starring role, Contactmusic reported.
The story, which has been penned by writer Dan Gordon of The Hurricane fame revolves around a sheriff attempting to keep a town from descending into violence during World War II.
"This has been a dream project for Kevin and I for years. The themes are timeless - war, peace and reconciliation. The canvas is epic - look at the movies Kevin has directed," Armyan Bernstein, from financiers Beacon Pictures, said.
The casting for the movie has now started and filming is expected to start later this year.
Kevin had taken a break from big Hollywood movies recently, although he will be seen this year in The Company Men alongside actor Ben Affleck.
