The police on Wednesday arrested a man and three of his accomplices on charges of murder and posting an inflammatory Facebook post that caused a communal flare-up in Khandwa recently.

Khandwa superintendent of police Manoj Sharma said Mohammad Zakir, a resident of Kallanganj area, and the three other men, have confessed to hatching a conspiracy to disturb communal harmony of the town.

During a clash sparked off by the alleged Facebook post, an insurance employee had been stabbed to death at Hatampura on July 30, leading authorities to impose curfew for eight days. The police suspect the hand of the accused in his murder.
