The son of Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao, who was kidnapped in Chitoor town of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, now alleges that his wife and her family had abducted and kept him locked up in a room.

According to Dasari Tharaka Harihara Prabhu, he had gone to Chitoor following a call from his wife that her brother was in hospital. There, some people forcibly took him to Chitoor from Vellore where he was locked in a lodge.

"They forced me to drink liquor and took my signature on some papers," Prabhu told the reporters in Chennai on Wednesday. Prabhu (34) said he had sought divorce from his wife Susheela (38) and the ruling was due next week.

"My wife, however, resisted divorce as she was after my wealth. I am sure that even the papers I was forced to sign would be used against me in the divorce case and to seize my wealth," he said.

Prabhu claimed he managed to escape from the hotel with the help of a room boy and reached Chennai by a cab. He also alleged that a gold bracelet worth Rs 60,000, Rs 20,000 in cash and his mobile phone have been taken away by his wife.

Prabhu's wife on Tuesday complained to the police that a group of five armed men barged into the hotel room in Seshapuram area where Prabhu was put up and whisked him away at

gunpoint.

"My wife filed the police complaint that I was kidnapped by some unknown persons only to divert attention from her own

villainy. I am returning to Hyderabadtonight and will take suitable legal action against my wife and her family," Prabhu said.
