Kidnapped Bangalore girl rescued from UP

A teenaged girl from Bangalore, who was allegedly kidnapped and later sold to a youth in Uttarakhand, was rescued following a raid on a house in Ghaziabad, police said on Thursday.

A team of Bangalore police led by sub-inspector Manjura Tripathi raided the house on Wednesday in Garhmukteshwar area and recovered the 16-year-old girl and arrested a youth, identified as Arvind, they said.

He had bought the girl for Rs 70,000 from Haldwani in Uttarakhand, they said adding that Arvind claims that he had married the girl. The girl was kidnapped from Bangalore.
