A diamond trader, who was kidnapped a few days ago in Faridabad, was found murdered in Mathura.

As part of their plan to destroy evidence, the kidnappers also burnt his body, police said on Monday.

The police were told about the murder only after they arrested the four accused, including an employee of Railways and a lawyer. All the four are in the custody of the Faridabad police.

The sensational disappearance of diamond trader Krishen Arya, who lived in posh sector 15, on February 22 here has scared the trading community here. Arya ran a diamond showroom in the Sector 15 market.

He had left his house at 11am on February 22 but did not come home. His son Akshay lodged a complaint with the central police station a day after that.

The police later found his Mercedes car in the parking of Sector 16 market.

Further investigation led them to one Sanjeev Sharma, who was posted at Nizamuddin Railway station as booking clerk.

On interrogation, Sharma revealed that a four-member gang led by him had kidnapped Arya, murdered him and burnt his body. They left his body in a mango orchard in Mathura.

Police said Sharma was an ex-employee of Krishen Arya who knew his financial strength and masterminded his kidnapping plan for ransom.
