A whistleblower who had tipped off police that some bodies were buried in Bhagwati Nagar Ashram of self-styled godman Asaram may become accused after a court on Tuesday directed the police to investigate and verify the complaint of a man.
In his complaint, one Vikrant Sharma levelled allegations against Bola Nath and sought directions to police station, Nowabad, Jammu, to register a case. Special mobile magistrate Balbir Lal Jaswal, after hearing the case, forwarded the complaint to Nowabad police station with the direction to proceed and report on the matter.
Vikrant has alleged that few days back Bola Nath contacted him on telephone for creating evidence to frame Asaram. He alleged that Bola Nath asked him to arrange skeletons and bury them in the ashram. After the assurance that skeletons will be arranged, Bola Nath asked him (Vikrant) to remove the skeleton from Muslim graveyard and bury them in the ashram and then Bola Nath will tell the media about the location of skeletons.
Vikrant recorded the telephonic conversation with Bola Nath.
The special mobile magistrate, after going through the contents of the complaint filed by Vikrant, forwarded the same to police to proceed with the complaint and report on the matter.
A few days back, Bhola Nath, a former aide of Asaram, had told a news channel that some children were buried in Bhagwati Nagar ashram of Asaram.
Taking cognisance of these revelations, Raj Kumar Chowdhary, state president of All India Kisan Sangh, filed a petition in the court seeking an inquiry by police in the matter. In 2006 and 2007, Bola Nath worked as organiser in Bhagwati Nagar ashram. During the same period, Vikrant came in contact with Bola Nath, who hails from a village near Jaipur in Rajasthan.
