Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, facing corruption and money laundering charges, is likely to be arrested after he is discharged from a hospital in Ranchi on Sunday, Enforcement Directorate sources said.
The Abdur Razzak Weavers Memorial Hospital, where Koda is admitted, said his condition is stable and it is ready to discharge him.
"He could be arrested after his discharge from the hospital," an ED source said.
"We have informed the authorities concerned that his (Koda's) condition is stable and (he) can be discharged today. We are now waiting for their direction," Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr P D Sinha said.
The Income Tax department and the ED have asked the hospital authorities to inform them before they release Koda.
Koda got himself admitted to the hospital here on November 3 after complaining of stomach ache.
He and several of his associates are facing charges of money laundering and illegal investments to the tune of over Rs 2000 crore.
