Jharkhand government has roped in actress Koena Mitra to promote "Brand Jharkhand" among potential NRI investors and People of Indian Origin.
Along with state Chief Minister Madhu Koda, Koena on Thursday attended a function in Ranchi organised by 'Pravasi Bhartiya' magazine to promote the state among NRIs and PIOs.
Addressing the gathering, Koda said Jharkhand offers a wide range of opportunities of investment in areas like minerals, tourism, industries and forestry.
He said, "the government has made many plans to develop the investment sector in the state. The better law and order situation has added to the solace of investors."
Koena, who hails from Jharkhand, said, "I am a daughter of the East and want to invite all the NRIs to visit Jharkhand and enjoy the flora, fauna and weather and culture of the tribal state."
Hailing the state as the 'jewel of the east' the actress said, "I also request you to invest in the rural infrastructure of the state. Jharkhand as a potentially rich state deserves well-knit integration of NRIs."
Jharkhand was included for the promotion by the magazine this year because of its emerging image of being a favourable investment destination in the NRI community.
