Kolkata physio brings fitness, amity message

DR IMRAN KHAN, a 43-year-old physiotherapist from Kolkata arrived in Indore on Saturday on his ?Jagriti Abhiyan?, a run for national harmony and health awareness across the country.

DR IMRAN KHAN, a 43-year-old physiotherapist from Kolkata arrived in Indore on Saturday on his ‘Jagriti Abhiyan’, a run for national harmony and health awareness across the country.

The campaign began on November 14, 2006 at Howrah and would conclude in Kolkata in April 2007. Dr Khan is already a world record holder for the longest run of 19894 km. The aim of his run is to encourage people to be hard working, courageous and confident and promote national integrity. Khan says that it is important to take care of one’s health and the best way do that is walking and fitness exercise.

During his campaign Dr Khan has trained many people in how to keep themselves fit and healthy. Educating the youth to quit addiction is another aim of the run.

During his run Dr Khan also treats diseases like arthritis, muscular pain, paralysis, spondylitis, obesity etc through free hand exercises popular in India, Australia, Japan and many other countries.

Dr Khan travelled to Dewas on Sunday and would pass through Sehore, Bhopal, Rajgarh, Guna, Shivpuri and Gwalior. Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal would be the other states Dr Khan would be visiting before the campaign concludes.
