Robert Kubica of Renault was fastest in the final practice session before qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix on Saturday.
Kubica's lap of 1 minute, 14.806 around the Mediterranean principality's famed street circuit eclipsed Felipe Massa of Ferrari's time by 0.046 seconds.
Mark Webber, coming off a victory at the Spanish GP, was third with Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel finishing fifth. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton came fourth.
Overall Formula One leader Jenson Button of McLaren was 10th, nearly nine-tenths of a second off Kubica's pace. Fernando Alonso slid into a wall to end his session after only 21 minutes. The Ferrari driver is second in the drivers' standings.
