Sixteen-year-old Archana cannot hold back her tears. Partially paralytic, she lost two brothers in a span of one month.

Both of them ended their lives after their ancestral land, their only source of income, was grabbed by someone in their village at Farrukhabad in UP.

While Kailash committed suicide last month, his younger brother Prem was found dead in Okhla area of south Delhi on Monday.

"We own 15 bighas of land at Rasoolpur village in UP. Three years ago, one of our villagers forcibly occupied our land. We had to move to Delhi after that to sustain our livelihood. We did not have enough money to fight a legal battle. My husband could not bear it and he ended his life a month ago," said Reena, Kailash's widow.

The family was till coming to terms with the death of Kailash when on Monday they heard Prem had also committed suicide.

They have four more brothers. Kailash is married with a three-year-old daughter and Prem was unmarried.

"Prem left home on Saturday, saying he was going to our village. He told us that he was going to settle the problem once and for all. Instead, he went to a desolate place in Okhla where he hanged himself. On Monday afternoon, we got a call from the police and they asked us to identify the body," said Sushila, their sister-in-law.

A postmortem was conducted at AIIMS on Tuesday and Prem's body was handed over to the family.

"We were looking for a bride for Prem. First Kailash died and now Prem ended his life," said Reena.

"I fail to understand why my husband took such an extreme step. I have a three-year-old daughter, we are now dependant on his brothers," said Reena.

The police said there was no foul play in the incident and Prem's body had become highly decomposed when a passerby informed the police.
