LAND MAFIOSO Lallu Yadav, whose name figured in the sensational Krishnanagar shootout case, surrendered before the court on Tuesday. The court had issued an arrest warrant against Lallu for not appearing during the hearing of a murder case on Monday.

The Krishnanagar police had arrested Lallu’s brother Surendra, along with four others, on Sunday. The police had claimed that it was Lallu who had orchestrated the shootout that claimed three lives on June 16. The police had also claimed that two absconding assailants Chandan and Mukesh were aides of Lallu.

While the police were hunting for Lallu Yadav, he chose not to appear in court in a pending case. He knew that that a warrant would be issued by the court and it would help him manage a ‘safe’ stay behind bars.

On Tuesday, Lallu appeared before the court and was remanded in judicial custody. The case in which the gangster surrendered related to the murder of a contractor Suresh whose body was recovered in Banthara on December 10 last.

Suresh was reported missing on November 18. The police had found Lallu’s involvement in getting Suresh eliminated over a contract dispute.

The police will now submit an application in court soon with reference to the Krishnanagar case and seek Lallu’s custody for interrogation.
