With an eye on the title, Indian colts are drawing inspiration from legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and football great Diego Maradona to come out triumphant in the Junior Hockey World Cup, starting in Singapore and Malaysia on Sunday.
National junior hockey coach AK Bansal told PTI that with the help of senior team video analyst Narender he has prepared a video clipping on Lata's inspirational song "Ae mere watan ke logo' to motivate the players during the quadrennial event.
Apart from the song, Bansal said, he would also carry a video on legendary Argentine footballer Maradona's life, which became a source of motivation during his wards' victory in the junior Asia Cup in Hyderabad last year.
"During the tournament, I will show the boys a short video on Lata Mangeshkar's song 'Ae mere watan ke logo' to motivate them," Bansal told PTI before departing for Singapore to participate in the event.
"The video will have clippings of army operations, last year's Mumbai terror attacks and few inspirational hockey matches with the song in the background.
"When you show them such videos during the team meeting, it pumps them up and gives them immense energy," he added.
