Life convict escapes from TN Govt hospital

The convict gave a slip to the police and managed to escape from the hospital on Thursday morning.
A 46-year-old life convict, who was undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital in Tiruchirapalli escaped from the police escort on Thursday.
Police said Basheer, hailing from Rajagiri village in Thanjavur district was arrested by the Kumbakonam police in connection with a murder in 2002. Later, he was awarded life-term imprisonment and was lodged in the central prison in Tiruchirapalli.

Basheer was admitted to the Government Hospital for a heart-ailment on August 26. He gave a slip to the police and managed to escape from the hospital on Thursday morning.
