Twelve persons, including five women, have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a gangster.
Twelve persons, including five women, have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a gangster in Mangalaguri town, near Guntur, in 2000.
A sessions judge yesterday convicted the accused, including four members of a family, for the murder of N Srinu, allegedly involved in several cases of murder and extortion in the area.

Srinu was murdered on September 14, 2000 by the convicts, four days after he reportedly sexually harassed a woman Varalakshmi and outraged her modesty and attacked her protesting relatives.
Srinu's wife, who was also attacked, however survived and testified against the accused.
