A fast track court awarded life imprisonment to 14 policemen in connection with a three-decade old fake encounter, in which three men were gunned down.
FTC Additional Sessions Judge Vikas Saxena also slapped a fine of Rs 5000 each on the then Mishrik police station incharge Brijgopal Verma and others.
They were convicted of killing one Rameshwar, Chetrani and Girish Chandra Srivastava at Budhai Ka Baag on February 10, 1981, claiming that they were dacoits.
Father of Girish had approached the Home Ministry, which ordered a CID probe into the "encounter". Twenty policemen were chargesheeted, however, six of them died during the tendency of the case.
